Wolfchase area office to get $430,000 overhaul

Memphis Business Journal

An office near the Wolfchase corridor will undergo a nearly half-million-dollar renovation.

A building permit valued at $430,000 was submitted July 17 for Orion Federal Credit Union’s location at 7845 U.S. Highway 64. Grinder, Taber & Grinder Inc. was listed as the contractor on the permit, which called for a “renovation of existing credit union.”

In October 2016, Orion debuted its new branch at 821 Poplar Ave. near Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital in the Medical District. That location marked the first new branch concept for Orion. Grinder, Taber & Grinder was also the general contractor on that project.

Orion was founded in 1957 and today operates 10 branches across West Tennessee. According to the MBJ Book of Lists, Orion Federal Credit Union ranks No. 1 on the Memphis-based Credit Unions list, as ranked by assets. The company has more than $636 million in assets and $643 million in deposits.

An Orion representative did not respond by the time of article publication.
