The early phase of renovations for the school’s original structure is recapturing the spirit of Orange Mound – bringing a genealogy center, community meeting space and the first library branch in the neighborhood’s history! Being listed on the National Register of Historic Places called for the 40,000-square-foot former high school to be intentionally designed to modernize where necessary and preserve where possible. Future plans will provide living areas for the senior community on the upper floors to include a outdoor deck, fitness center and a movie room.
